Founded in 1697. A sake brewer with a history as an official sake brewer of the Uesugi clan of Yonezawa. Since 1983, the company has been engaged in sake brewing along the mountains of southern Yamagata Prefecture, starting from the cultivation of sake rice, and its quality is proven by the fact that it has been selected for JAL and ANA's business class in-flight sake. The company is also eager to produce new types of sake, such as dry sparkling sake and pink-colored junmai sake that uses no rice other than white rice.The brand name Yonetsuru has two meanings: gratitude and happiness. The store attached to the brewery is open on business days (weekdays and Saturdays only in December) only.Tours are available from April to September with advance notice.
