Takashima Shuzou
Founded in 1804, the brand name "Hakuin Masamune" was named after Zenji Hakuin, the founder of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism, by Tesshu Yamaoka, who was impressed by the taste of sake during the Meiji era.At Takashima Sake Brewery, we brew sake by hand and carefully with the concept of the idea that sake that suits the food culture of the region is local sake.Since 2012 we have stopped adding alcohol to all of the sake we brew and have become an all-jummai-shu (pure rice) brewery. Sales are available at the brewery's direct sales office from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays.Brewery tours or tastings are not available.
