Satsuma Shuzo
"Satsuma Shuzo Kedogawa Distillery Meiji Brewery" is a brewery that has been in existence since the Meiji Era. It preserves the atmosphere of the late Meiji period, when the process of honkaku shochu production was established, and the breath of the craftsmen. Even today, a group of craftsmen, including a chief shochu maker, continue to make shochu in the traditional way, and visitors can observe the brewing process up close. The 99 earthenware jars (pot, vessels) in the museum are more than 100 years old and are still used for shochu making. Tours are available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and tastings are offered at the shop. Guided tours by staff are held three times daily at 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. Same-day participation is also available.
