Founded in October of Bunka 2 (1805), the brewery bears the distinguished name "Kamisugi", bestowed by the Ōmiwa Shrine (Miwa Shrine) in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, which the seventh-generation Sugimoto Shobei deeply revered as the guardian deity of brewing.Kamisugi is crafted using abundant, high-quality underground water and locally grown premium sake rice varieties, Wakamizu and Yumeginka, from Anjo.
