Beniotome Shuzou

Fukuoka, KyushuFounded 1978

Beniotome Shuzo manufactures barley shochu, rice shochu, spirits, liqueurs, etc., with the one and only distilled spirit, Sesame Shochu Beniotome as its main brand. Haruno Hayashida, the founder of Beniotome Shuzo, married into a Japan sake brewery in Tajimarumachi, Fukuoka Prefecture, and aimed to brew a completely new type of sake. In 1978, we arrived at shochu with a fragrant aroma made with sesame seeds. Please enjoy the subterranean water of the blessings of the Mt. Mino range and the sesame shochu created by a female brewer. Tastings are available at the Benitome-no Jyoryu-sho direct sales store (open 9:00-17:00, closed during the year-end and New Year holidays). The facility is open for tours, but please contact us to make a reservation for group tours.
